Past Trustees

Mr. Snehal Soneji (2005-2010). Snehal, Program Manager, Oxfam, India is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM),Ahmedabad. Snehal was a Member Trustee for five years and guided the organization in management and human resource related developments. His areas of interest are non-profit management and disaster relief. He was actively involved in the post Tsunami activities in Tamilnadu and post earthquake activities in Jammu and Kashmir. Before joining Oxfam, Snehal was the Program Manager for Handicap International, Gujarat office. Snehal is currently based in Phillipines. Consequently, he felt it was unfair to remain a trustee and not be involved in the Trust's activities. He remains available to us for guidance and informal consultations.

Mr. Akhil Paul (2004- 2009). Akhil heads Sense International India apart from being involved in other very important projects and committees. He was a Member Trustee for 5 years. He guided the organization to refine its vision and became a staunch supporter and spokesperson of its activities in all interactions he had concerning Setu in his official as well as personal capacity. He stepped down in January 2009 due to a conflict of interest consequent to launching of Project Chrysalis where his wife's organization is one of the partners. We are very unhappy to let him go but as a trustee, he exemplified the values of the organization and has reiterated an important lesson: practice before preach. He continues to be involved, but in an unofficial capacity.

Mr. Venkat Krishnan N. (2000-2006). Venkat heads Give Foundation. He is one of the founder members of the organization and actually provided seed money to launch Setu in 2000. He helped crystallize the vision and the mission of the organization by forcing us to ask WHY for every activity we wanted to launch. He made us realize that it is not what you do but how you do that is important. He also taught us the value of resources and instilled in us a sense of responsibility towards not only our client group, but also resources available. He stepped down in 2006 due to excessive work commitments, both to Give and to the other company he founded with his IIMA colleagues. These did not allow him to devote sufficient time to Setu and he felt it was unfair to be a trustee and not remain available and involved. He remains a driving force and a mentor.
